1959 Barbie Doll - So close to my heart....
Barbie was my first love. Starting as a young girl, I would beg my mother for a new Barbie every time I went to the store. Each time a Barbie showed up on television, I needed it. To this day, everything Barbie I must have.
My passion for Barbie grows everyday, and there's no stopping it! My sister and photographer, Hannah Betts, and I were at Barnes and Nobles and we spotted a Barbie book, of course, it inspired our next photo shoot. We have since decided to photograph the decades of Barbie.

My NYC Devachan Trip!
Hey everyone! I just thought I would share a little information about my trip to NYC to study under the co-founder of Devachan and Deva Concepts!
A little information about Deva just in case you don't know what it is: Deva is a concept created just for curly hair. It has become quite the phenomenon across the world. They have a special cutting technique and coloring technique that I was lucky enough to learn from the creators. Also they have DevaCurl a wonderful product just for curls! Tad bit of info you might enjoy - Sarah Jessica parker goes to Devachan in NYC!
I flew into NYC Sunday morning to get myself settled and begin my planning for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday!! I had class all three days where I fine tuned my cutting skills and learn their coloring technique used at their very successful salons in NYC. I am now the only stylist in Rochester that has this education for curly hair!
Each day I went in at 8:30 and studied until 5 pm. I worked on manikins and models! It was amazing!!

Well, before one of my dearest friends left to be stationed in New Mexico, we was wonderful enough to model for one of my dream shoots...
She, being as beautiful as she is, made me stand there with my mouth wide open at her ease in front of the camera!

Inspiration for Amanda
Hey everyone, I am doing a shoot with Amanda, a fantastic model from Upstate New York, and Sarah Peterson a photographer from Rochester NY.
We have been thinking about going with a timeless vintage flair. There's going to be a lot of white, so Amanda is going to POP!
We will probably be doing some dramatic styling with some timeless makeup that doesn't over do her face but allows for her beautiful features to be a focus.
Sarah is giving me the freedom to "work my magic" I love that!

I modeled... and I loved it
Hello everyone! It's been a while but I had to let you all know that I modeled for on of my dear friends the other day... Peter Webb (a world renowned hairstylist that resides and works here in Rochester, NY) photographed my sister and I.

To say the least... I'm a little proud.... a lot proud actually...
Wow, what an incredible thing this is! My brother-in-law Michael Moncibaiz was just featured in the Insider for the week of January 14th!
Along side of a model, a comedian, a producer, a band and a business owner, Michael was named one of "6 to watch in 2011"
I know this doesn't seem to have much importance when it comes to my book... but it does! St. Monci will be my featured artist in my inspiration book I will be publishing next year!

And the world goes around and around... so do the times...
When you watch the television and you see the hair styles and the makeup that is popular... what do you see?
One of my very favorite things in the world to recreate vintage styles. I think they are beautiful and timeless. Stunning they are as you think about the flappers that were strong, to the housewives that worked so hard to be the best they could be for their family, and now the women who are brave enough to make a stand against boring styles!
So, I have a super fun idea for a photo shoot... I want a girl who is confident in her body, hopefully covered in tattoos and a strong personality.

A few images from Elishia's photo shoot!
Hey guys! Here are a few images of the photo shoot with Elishia! I can't wait to get my book done so all of you guys can see all of these images brought to life with art inspired design, retouching, artistic imagery and words of inspiring musicians.... Oh I just get so excited thinking about everything!
I have another shoot scheduled at the end of the month with a student from Shear Ego International School of Hair Design in Irondequoit, the same school that I went to for my cosmetology license. Day with our RIT students!
Today was an awesome day at the salon! I had two of my RIT students come in, both of whom will be photographing and modeling for my inspiration book! Brandon and Liz! Both of them started coming to me a few months ago and we have all been on the same page about styles and today we talked about their color. I am so excited about them! They both are super fun and stylish, totally willing to try new things!
Brandon is rocking a great funky faux hawk type cut and we are coloring him next month. It was great because I had an idea in my head and when I told him what I wanted to do... he told me he was just talking to the others in the car about the same thing! Ahh great minds think alike. Brandon is a fashion inspired photographer at RIT. (I'll get you a link to his page soon I promise!)
Lizz came to me with a great cut that we have been able to slowly transform into a cut that fits her face and personality better than any other person I have met! We are really excited about her color as well! Lizz is a Fine Art inspired photographer at RIT. http://lizzthabet1.carbonmade.com/
With both of them photographing and modeling for me, I know for sure we are going to get exactly what I have envisioned.
They also brought one of their super cute friends in today for a hair cut. She told me she wanted something piecey and funky. Did we get that! We cut a super funky and piecey style on her. She rocked it! I have never met anyone that could rock a cut like that! I can't wait for her color to be finished! She was such a beautiful girl!
Anyway... I just thought I would share with you part of my day with some of my favorite clients at the salon. We will be doing the shoot in February... so keep your eye out!
Another fun fact about today... I edged a design into one of my client's trendy hair cut! Awesome!

Sneak Peek of our Photoshoot with Elishia and Asif
Hey everyone!! Wow, I just had an incredible time with Elishia and Asif Ali, from A Touch of Elegance Photography, during our photo shoot! We had 5 outfits, 5 changes of hair and 4 makeup changes! I would say... a very successful night! Elishia was beautiful and Asif was awesome! Here's a little sneak peek of the shoot, as soon as Asif sends me some finished images I'll let you guys see some more! These past two shoots were a perfect way to start my year! My teacher from cosmetology school once told me that I was one of those people that would just make it. She and I cried together talking about the stresses we have been through and the triumphs we had together. She was and is an inspiration in my life as a stylist. I just love her.
